Are You Ready For The SoCal Christian Writers’ Conference?
The SoCal Christian Writers’ Conference is less than a month away! June 21-23. This will be our second year, and we’re back at Biola University. Our first conference last summer was amazing. God majorly blessed the attendees in so many ways. I’m super-excited to see what He does this year!
We have an awesome faculty, headed up by two fantastic keynoters: Mary DeMuth and Liz Tolsma. Ten continuing sessions in the mornings and 100 afternoon workshops to choose from. Three literary agents, six book publishers, one magazine publisher, and several established authors and editors will be teaching and taking one-on-one appointments.
As an added bonus, all paid registrants can get a professional critique of their book proposals from agent Stephanie Alton. ($60 includes a 20-minute phone or video call before the conference and a half-hour appointment with Stephanie at the conference). They can also get up to ten pages of a work-in-progress professionally critiqued by Frank Ball in advance of the conference, and he will meet with them during the conference to discuss the work—no extra charge. Typographer Julie Williams will be taking half-hour appointments at the conference to give personalized tutorial consultations on how to use MS Word to its fullest. Also free to paid registrants!
Here are some of the things last year’s attendees wrote about the first SoCal Christian Writers’ Conference:
“The easy access to the faculty for informal conversation [was especially beneficial]. I learned so much and met such wonderful, helpful people, I can’t wait to do this again next year!”
“This was my first writing conference. Best decision I made choosing this one.”
“I had a fantastic time critiquing and getting feedback on my manuscript. Very positive and encouraging environment.”
“Because it was my first writers’ conference, I learned only a fraction of what was available. I can’t wait to come next year to learn even more. I’m going home with a wealth of new ideas.”
“I loved hearing encouragement from God’s Word about being a writer. I’m pumped and ready to write all summer!”
