Christian Writers Retreats
I would love your feedback on the upcoming SoCal and Mount Hermon writers retreats.
I am so excited about the SoCal Christian Writers Retreat coming up next week! A few weeks ago, we thought we might have to cancel for personal reasons, but the Lord got us through them in amazing ways. I am confident that He has incredible blessings planned for all who attend.
The timing in early June didn’t seem to work well for a lot of people, so we’re thinking about possibly doing the next SoCal Christian Writers Retreat in early March of next year. If you’re interested in a Southern California retreat, I would love to hear from you whether that time frame might be good for you.
Mount Hermon Retreat
The Christian Writers Retreat at Mount Hermon is November 3-6. Last year’s Mount Hermon retreat was awesome! You can read the 2021 testimonials on the website. Cost is between $499 and $899 depending on your lodging choice. There’s a $275 program-and-meals-only option for those who live locally or choose to stay off-site. If you register by June 15 you can take advantage of the early-bird 10% discount by using discount code earlyMH22.
A few changes this year. Since so many of last year’s registrants expressed a desire for a little bit longer retreat, we’re doing three nights instead of two (Thursday dinner through Sunday lunch). Our meeting space will be all of the Newton Memorial building, so we’ll have separate places for presentations, book tables, a prayer labyrinth, and a room where attendees can meet and brainstorm and write throughout the retreat.
One more change is that if you register for double- or triple-occupancy lodging, you’ll need to make arrangements for your own roommate(s). You may specify your roommate choice(s) when you register (and they’ll list your name when they register), or you can connect with people on the private Facebook Group for Attendees after you register to find people to share a room with.
In order to keep the prices down, we don’t have a budget for paying faculty honorariums, waiving their registration, or reimbursing them for travel. However, several people have graciously offered to present something during their retreat at Mount Hermon. If you’d be interested in giving a workshop or two, doing a short devotional, leading in worship, or serving your fellow attendees in some other way as part of your retreat experience, please email me. I plan to start working on a schedule of presentations after the SoCal retreat and hope to be announcing the Mount Hermon presenters in July or August.
I am really looking forward to getting away for these weekends to have special and powerful connections with God, to get refreshed, rejuvenated, and recharged, and to build relationships with people who understand me and want to encourage me, support me, and pray for me. I’m eager to listen for the Holy Spirit’s guidance and direction on my writing and my life, to make divine connections, and to carve out some uninterrupted writing time in these beautiful, inspiring settings.
I hope to see you at one or both of these Christian Writers Retreats soon!
