Meet the Promising Beginnings Contest Winners

Because I believe in the power, impact, and influence of Christian writers’ conferences, I have held a contest for the past several years in which one lucky winner has received a full scholarship to the Mount Hermon Writers Conference. All the entrants had to do was submit the first five pages of an unpublished book manuscript.

This year, the winner was given a choice between two options: a full scholarship to the 2017 Mount Hermon Christian Writers Conference, including meals and economy lodging, or a full scholarship to the 2017 SoCal Christian Writers’ Conference, including meals and dorm lodging plus reimbursement of travel expenses.

I actually had two winners this year! So one received the Mount Hermon scholarship and the other got the SoCal scholarship. It’s my pleasure to introduce them to you.

AMY DROWN, winner of the Mount Hermon scholarship, studied history at the University of Arizona, the University of Cambridge, and the University of Glasgow. An executive assistant by day, she is also an award-winning photographer and musician. But her true passion is writing edgy, uplifting stories that explore the deep roots of family, friendship, and faith. You can learn more about Amy and her Deep-Rooted Fiction™ at www.AmyDrown.com.

DAVID LEACH is the owner/publisher of The Strident Conservative, America’s online source for conservative opinion that’s “politically incorrect and always right.” In addition to www.stridentconservative.com, David regularly contributes to www.RedState.com and www.TheBlaze.com. He also produces daily commentaries, which can be heard on radio stations across America via the Salem Radio Network.

Congratulations, Amy and David!

After the conferences, I’m hoping to share with you their stories of how God used those events to bless them.
