Mount Hermon: looking back on 2019 and forward to 2020
The 2019 Mount Hermon Christian Writers Conference was amazing, as always! I loved watching divine appointments happening all around me throughout the conference. And reading the attendees’ evaluations afterward made my heart soar! Let me share some of those comments:
“This was one of the best run conferences I’ve been to (and I’ve been to many).”
“One of my favorite years at Mount Hermon yet.”
“It was a truly God-hemmed conference.”
“Such a sweet spirit in the conference.”
“I felt his presence here in many ways, through the beauty around me and the people I met.”
“Mount Hermon is a place where you grow your soul so you can write your purpose.”
“Mount Hermon’s specialty is that it ministers to the spirit of the writer while addressing all the practical aspects of craft and production and marketing.”
“Mount Hermon is a beautiful location where God is present in all the activities.”
“Mount Hermon is one of my favorite conferences and is a guaranteed spiritual retreat simply by virtue of the gorgeous setting. But beyond that, the spirit of the conference is so welcoming and helpful and servant-hearted that it’s clear the Holy Spirit is behind every aspect of the conference.”
“This conference was by far my favorite, and I’ve attended many. God used this time to bolster my faith, to grow stronger connections with my publishing comrades, and to meet authors who hunger to share His love with the world. While I was blessed professionally, this conference meant so much to me personally as well.”
This year was our 50th anniversary. To celebrate, we put together a beautiful gift book with photos and memories over the years. We still have some copies left. If you’d like to purchase Celebrate the Legacy for $15 plus $5 shipping & handling, email me. All proceeds go to the writers conference campership fund.
I’m currently putting together the rest of our faculty for next year. If you’d like to recommend some folks, please email me. And if you know their email addresses, please include them!
I hope you will join us for next year’s conference, when Charles Martin will be our keynoter. Charles is the author of 14 novels, including When Crickets Cry, The Dead Don’t Dance, Long Way Gone (last year’s Christy Award winner for book of the year), and The Mountain Between Us (on which the major motion picture was based). His stories are powerful, and his writing style is captivating. Charles’s latest book is nonfiction. Using his storyteller’s imagination, What If It’s True? delves deeply into key moments in the life of Jesus and encourages readers to ponder What if every single word of theses stories is true? And if it is true, how should I respond?
Online registration for 2020 will open in the fall. Check the website for details as they are posted.
