Taxes for Freelancers

I will be teaching an online course on Taxes for Freelancers (focusing on writers and editors) through The Christian PEN starting January 7. Deadline to register is December 31.

Tips and guidelines for determining:
(a) whether your writing and/or editing qualifies as a business or hobby for tax purposes,
(b) what tax forms you’ll need, and how to fill them out,
(c) what counts as income,
(d) what is and isn’t a legitimate expense,
(e) what to do if you have a loss,
(f) making quarterly payments,
and more.

Lessons will be posted once a week, on Mondays, for three weeks: January 7, 14, and 21. Active participation is not required. You can save the lessons to review later, at your convenience.
