When something happens that is irritating or frustrating or worrisome or disconcerting … give it some TLC2.
Talk to God about it. Tell Him what’s on your heart. Don’t go blabbing about it to others until after you’ve discussed it with your heavenly Father, so He can give you the right perspective. Then, if you do tell others, you can include whatever insights the Holy Spirit has given you and give glory to Him.
Listen to what God wants to tell you about the situation. Look for ways the Lord might be planning to use this for His honor and glory, for your good and your greater joy, and for the benefit of those who don’t yet know Him.
Consider what you need to do about the situation … both now and in the future, the next time something like this happens. Choose to trust God—to believe that He has your best interests at heart, that He knows what’s best for you and for everyone involved, that He has a plan, and that He’s working on that plan right now, even if you can’t see what’s going on behind the scenes.
Talk to God and Tell Him what you’re thinking and feeling.
Listen to Him and Look for His hand in the situation.
Consider what you need to do and Choose to trust in the God who loves you beyond measure.
That’s TLC2.
Which of those steps do you find the most difficult to put into practice? Lately, I’ve been focusing on the second L. In some situations, it can be hard to see how God could possibly use those circumstances for good. But Scripture promises that He can bring something good out of anything. Anything! When I consider what good things might possibly come from something that seems negative to me, that helps me trust Him more—especially when I realize that if I can think of a half-dozen ways it could work out for good, surely He can come up with infinitely more!
